Someone wise once said, “All thoughts are creative. If you don’t want it to show up in your life at some point then don’t think about it.” This quote resonates with Louise Hay’s teachings on the creative power of thoughts. Author of the best selling book “You Can Heal Your Life”, former Church of Religious Science minister Louise Hay is known as one of the most spiritual and inspirational writers of modern times. Her philosophy is simple, yet profound in that it reveals the creative power of our thoughts, words, feelings and actions. Even our negative thoughts have the power to create, according to Hay, so we should always guard what we are thinking, feeling, saying and doing. According to Hay’s teachings, the Law of Attraction works 24/7 and readily responds to what we put into it, so if we want to create a better future we need to start thinking positive thoughts in the present. One of her favorite topics is positive affirmations. She teaches her readers about the power of words by reminding them to speak words of positivity throughout the day. Some of her favorite prosperity affirmations are as follows: “Life is an adventure, and the Universe is always on our side,” and “I am open and receptive to all the good and abundance in the Universe” and “Today is a delightful day. Money comes to me in expected and unexpected ways” among others. Louise Hay’s CDs titled “The Power of Your Spoken Word” and “Receiving Prosperity” are great buys for anyone on the path to increased prosperity and financial abundance.
The following video features an interview with Louise Hay regarding the creative power of thoughts. We hope you enjoy it!

The most effective affirmations are those which have meaning for us, those that we believe in, and those whose zest is in their short, effective delivery. A lengthy affirmation, for example, has a way of waning in power and effectiveness because much of our energy in repeating it is used in remembering the words to say. A more powerful affirmation would be a shorter statement that can be easily remembered and felt as true. It would be more effective, for example, to use an affirmation such as “My prosperity is expanding each day because I am a child of the universe” versus “I am rich and prosperous and abundant, and good things happen to me all the time in the area of wealth, romance, and financial prosperity because I am a child of the universe and deserve the best in life.” The more concentrated your affirmation is in terms of length and the way you FEEL about it, the more power those words have to help you manifest your desires. The repeating of words does not have much power to change our world, but the way we FEEL when we repeat our affirmations is the fuel that materializes our desires. We naturally think in pictures and feelings, but not in words, so it is important to understand these elements of creativity as we use affirmations to expand our consciousness. The feelings we experience contain the power to build up or destroy our lives, so we should choose affirmative words that can help us feel expectant, creative and abundant. If we cannot, for example, feel good about affirming “I deserve financial prosperity”, we might want to tailor our affirmation to say, “Each day I am opening up more and more to financial prosperity and blessings.” In this manner, we do not sabotage our affirmations by feeling unworthy of the reality our words describe. It is much easier for us to affirm increasing, steady growth instead of saying “I am rich and prosperous and abundant now”, especially when our feelings tell us otherwise.
There is no perfect affirmation for money, achievement, romance or success. We have the power to create the affirmations that feel powerful for us. Stuart Wilde, who wrote a powerful book called AFFIRMATIONS, suggests that we chop and change our affirmations until they feel good to us, and then use them daily to help us crystalize our desires by feeling the reality we wish to materialize. If this is done regularly, then there is no power in heaven or earth that can keep our desires from manifesting.

Some people like to affirm for prosperity on the way to work or during the afternoon, while some people enjoy affirming just before going to bed. The truth is that there is no best time to affirm for prosperity, but studies have shown that affirmations are more effective when done first thing in the morning. The reason for this is that upon awakening the brain is running at about 12 wave cycles per second and is most receptive to new ideas and thoughts during this state. This is why a song on the radio that is heard upon awakening has a way of staying in your head all day long, and often into the next day. As a result, it is very important to start the day on a positive note by filling it with affirmative statements and affirmations of wealth. Hearing the morning news is not the best way to start the day because the news is often filled with negative stories, tragedies, and other forms of negativity. Someoneone on the road to manifesting wealth through the Law of Attraction should start his/her morning with positive affirmations to start the day on a positive note. An example of this might be, “I am excited about what the Law of Attraction will do for me today! Money is on the way to me! I am learning to be more open to abundance and prosperity!” By starting the day in this manner we set the spiritual foundation for a positive, creative, and expectant day. And we all know that the Law of Attraction responds to our expectation in wonderful ways.
